A park in Kobe with a large number of flowers and plants. Near Shin-Kobe Station is the first ropeway station leading up the mountain. You can choose to buy a round-trip ticket or a one-way ticket to the top, and on the way down, walk further to the waterfalls and dam. The ride has two stations: the garden entrance and the summit.
Upper station
At the upper station, after inspecting the zones, you can grab a bite at a café with a view of Kobe and pick up some themed fragrant souvenirs. If you wish, they can lower them down for you while you continue walking.
Greenhouse and Terrace
There are also a couple of cafes, hammocks, and a cushioned seating area in this zone. There used to be a foot bath with herbs here as well.
Dam and Waterfalls
From the mid-station, you can take a turn and walk towards the dam and waterfalls. The road goes all the way through, and you’ll end up descending to Shin-Kobe Station anyway. The Nunobiki Waterfalls, along with the Nachi Waterfalls (Wakayama Prefecture) and Kegon Waterfalls (Tochigi Prefecture), are known as one of Japan’s Three Sacred Waterfalls, and many traditional poems have been composed about them.
